Types of Prints

You will appreciate having – or giving as a gift – an exclusive Fred Noer photograph. Each image is produced with premium-quality materials and printing techniques so you or the recipient of your gift may enjoy your artwork long into the future. You deserve nothing but the best!

Photos are available in three formats: paper (print only – not mounted, matted, or framed), canvas, and standout. They are described in the sections below.

The images themselves are available in four sizes: 8x10, 11x14, 16x20, and 20x24. Each photo has a border. The paper print has the same size border on each side. The print and border sizes are: 8x10 (1” border), 11x14 (1¼”), 16x20 (1½”), and 20x24 (1¾”). Custom sizes are available.

The other three types of prints have different borders according to size. The top, left, and right borders are the same width, but the bottom border is bigger than the other three sides to enhance the appearance and presentation of the photo. Here are the print and border sizes: 8x10 (2½” and 3” borders), 11x14 (2¾” and 3¼”), 16x20 (3½” and 4¼”), and 20x24 (4¼” and 5¼”). Custom sizes are available.

Paper Print

Each paper print is made on Hahnemuhle Fine Art Baryta FB paper. According to its website, Hahnemuhle is a pioneering and market-leading company that “ . . . continuously refines its genuine artist papers for exclusive prints of photographs, digital art, and art reproductions.”

Hahnemuhle describes its Baryta FB as a 100-percent alpha-cellulose, bright-white inkjet paper. It is a heavy paper with a minimally textured base and a smooth surface. Hahnemuhle states: “Black has impressive depth, colors are brilliantly reflected, and details and contrasts are perfectly reproduced. The barium sulphate in the coating gives the paper the feel of a traditional analogue baryta paper. Baryta FB is acid- and lignin-free and meets the most exacting requirements in terms of age resistance.”

The print comes without a mat or frame but does include a 1" border around the image to allow for mounting, matting, and framing. The dimensions of the image itself may vary slightly according to the image aspect ratio and cropping.

Your photograph always should be handled with white cotton gloves so any dirt and oil on your hands do not degrade the paper. Your photo should be mounted by an experienced professional using a cold-mounting process on a high-quality, rigid, and smooth material whose dimensions will not change. The best results are produced with a solvent acrylic adhesive with built-in UV inhibitors. Should your photograph be mounted on a soft surface with a foam core, for example, the possibility of the surface of the photograph developing dimples will be increased.

The prices for paper prints are: 8x10 $50, 11x14 $95, 16x20 $175, 20x24 $275. Custom sizes are available.

Canvas Print

Your canvas print is made on Lyve matte canvas produced by a company called Breathing Color, which says, “Lyve canvas sets the standard for premium inkjet canvas.” The material is free of optical-brightening agents, and its bright white surface inhibits yellowing by UV light exposure. The canvas is certified for 100 years by the Fine Art Trade Guild, meaning your photo will last for generations.

The production process includes stretching the canvas around a ¾-inch wooden frame with 90-degree corners and finishing with a varnish for added protection from the effects of ultraviolet light. The photo comes ready to hang on your wall.

The prices for canvas prints are: 8x10 $195, 11x14 $295, 16x20 $475, 20x24 $675. Custom sizes are available.

Standout Print

Another appealing option for your photograph is a format known as a standout, also called a flush mount.

The standout process begins with the image printed on Epson semi-matte resin-coated premium paper. The low-gloss paper finish minimizes glare but maximizes appearance with high ink saturation.

After a UV non-glare film or protective coating is applied to the print, it is mounted to ⅛-inch graphic-quality tempered Masonite with an ⅛-inch beveled edge. The final step is mounting the assembly to a ¾-inch-deep back frame flush to the edge, making the piece look like a box. A special wooden structure is on the back for hanging.

The prices for standout prints are: 8x10 $275, 11x14 $375, 16x20 $650, 20x24 $985. Custom sizes are available.
